Position Overview

The Deutsche Bank Finance-IT department is responsible for the design, implementation and support of middle- and back-office systems with in Finance Group Risk Control in Frankfurt and in the regions. dbArtos is the central Credit Risk data management, calculation and reporting system that provides all Deutsche Bank Credit Risk reports for internal management and external/regulatory purpose. This has become more and more important given the current market conditions. The system is based on an Oracle data management layer, SAS calculation and a Java client weblogic J2EE / Microstrategy reporting layer. A significant portion of the development is performed by a Moscow based vendor.

Role Description

The role is to work in the global dbArtos / Finance-IT environment located in Frankfurt, London, Manila and Moscow. Within the dbArtos team the candidate is responsible for the technical architecture to ensure quality design, specification and implementation of data management and calculation processes. This involves the implementation and improvement of processes and requires a solid IT know-how. In order to be successful the candidate will require working closely with other IT managers and IT experts.

The candidate will be required to work pro-actively within a team structure towards the common goal of reliable, robust, scalable and professional software solutions. A proven ability to meet deadlines and the promotion of accurate timescales estimates are a must. The candidate will be required to contribute towards strategic design decisions in a co-operative manner with other team members.

Responsibilities

Manage the interaction and delivery of the Java and Oracle based milestones. Lead the development of processes including tracking of tasks. Liaise with representatives of the IT community, up- and downstream systems project managers as well as senior management and the Moscow vendor. Improve the end-to-end development process including quality assurance, source control, testing and deployment. Analyse and document IT (and related business) processes. Structure and optimize organisational and technical processes. Managing parts of the project.

Requirements

  • Experience of Oracle application development in Data Warehouses (DWH) processing of high-volume data
  • Strong SQL, Oracle experience (3+ years)
  • Senior/ experienced with Java
  • IT Project Management experience
  • Experiences in implementing data processes either business or IT side
  • Applied Design Patterns. Practical design of J2EE systems (3+ years)
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to communicate effectively with team members, peers and seniors
  • Fluent English
  • Reliable team player who enjoys working in an international environment
  • Must be able to produce clear, concise, and targeted documentation
  • Education to degree standard

Desirable Skills

  • Experience with CVS, Eclipse, Ant, Maven
  • Experienced with Java web Server development, spring, XML, XSDs, XSLT, processing engines, Weblogic, Ajax / JavaScript
  • Know How in Regulatory Regulations and Financial Accounting
  • Worked within a large blue-chip organisation
  • Worked within a financial institute
  • Professional certification
